Our network has been crippled twice by newly imaged Dells with IPv6 still enabled. These machines go into S1 sleep state and start blasting out several gigs an hour of MLD's. Some sensitive equipment reports loss of connectivity as a result.
While we can obviously disable ICMPv6 multicast on our switch gear, and also disable IPv6 on the machines from the start, we are stumped about where this traffic is coming from. Is anyone familiar with Windows 7 Enterprise x64 or Dell systems like these doing anything like this?
As soon as you hit a key to wake the PCs, they shut-up. We initially thought they were infected, and have scans running overnight (late discovery), but are hoping someone might have seen this before?
