I'm trying to install ESXi5.5 on a Dell PowerEdge R730 server we just got and a few minutes into the VMware install I get a "Fatal Error 6 Buffer Too Small". The system just hangs there.
I've tried ESXi5.1 andESXi5.5 w/ and w/o Dell customization. The error comes up after different files with the different installs (although always in the same spot for the same install) so it makes it look like a size related issue.
I've tried turning off PXE, network cards, Dell's new Life Cycle controller, iDrac, etc. No change.
I tried multiple CD drives, multiple burns and multiple ISOs. I've reformatted the storage pools. I'm kind of out of things to try. I've never had problems installing VMware before.
It is a 128GB ram system with 3 TB across SAS 8 drives and VMware claims it is all supported hardware. The only thing different from other systems...
