We are looking to purchase a handful of new laptops for power users that travel. They require 16GB of RAM and 1 TB hard drives with 14" anti-glare screens. We are a Dell shop and everyone already has Dell docking stations. It looks like the E5440 would be a close match if we add the extra 8GB RAM and upgrade the hard drive ourselves once we receive them.

But I am unsure of the max hard drive that can be installed. The largest drive you can order for this system from Dell is 500GB. I would think we could replace with a 1TB drive once we receive it. But according to this spec sheet, 500 GB is the max HD size for this model.
