Hi, we keep running into an issue where the Dell EqualLogic VSS Requestor Support Service is using a BUNCH of RAM. We're running SQL 2008 R2 standard on a MS Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise VM (on a VMware 5.5 host). The SQL server is under heavy load all day every day. The server is attached to a group of (2) PS 6110s via iSCSI connected volumes on a 10Gb platform. Understandably, SQL wants as much RAM as possible and I think Standard Edition caps out at 68GB which is fine with us. Since we're not using any of the 'bells and whistles' that come with the HIT Kit, i can't seem to figure out WHY the VSS Requestor Support Service is gobbling up up to 20+GB of RAM! We gave this SQL VM 80GB of RAM thinking we should be good, but the Dell VSS requestor support service was gobling up RAM and I am suspecting that it was battling SQL for more RAM!
