Hi guys
I am new to tape backup. I want a single tape LTO6 Library device to do a monthly full backup via veeam. My plan is to attach the tape library device directly to a physical server (R720), install required drivers and then present this to Veeam. I think the TL1000 might be what I am after but want to hear your thoughts first. Am I correct in thinking that the only way to attatch the device to my infrastrcuture is via SAS? On the overview tab here, it states:
Fast installation — Simply unpack and rack the unit, connect the SAS cable, load tape media and power on the TL1000 to get started.
So all I would need to do is make sure I have a SAS HBA Card in my server and a SAS cable to connect it up? I dont need anything else? In the product options it states "2M SAS Cable 6Gbps for external tape" which is confusing me.
