ok-
I have 2 Dell latitudes that lost access to their optical drives. Win10 Pro 64bit update 1607 - anniversary edition.
both have had Virtual CloneDrive and ImgBurn installed along with AnyDVD.
One one laptop I have removed all 3 apps listed and Device Manager still shows a yellow warning. I've removed/uninstalled the DVD from DManager and rebooted and still no drive letter for the DVD drive. I've checked Disk Management to see if it was just missing a drive letter and it's not even shown. I haven't messed with the other one - but it seems to be tied to when both laptops got the 1607 version of Win10 (anniversary release).
I see some older posts from 2015 about issues with the driver or "filters" getting in the way of windows. Getting a little bothered it's not easier to get the DVD to show up and get access to it again. Am I missing...
