RAID 5 Question

Hello,

We have a Dell PowerEdge T710 with ESXi on it. According to ESXi it is a RAID5 setup. When booting it appears that one of the drives has failed. Obviously this drive needs to be replaced as another drive failing will cause the whole thing to go down. I am wondering if anybody has any experience with this as I do not. Do you just remove the drive and put in a new one and it rebuilds or is there something further? I have read conflicting information in various forums online about what to do. Some say to hot swap the drive with the machine on while others say to shut it down and do the swap. Others have said that most of the time the rebuild fail. Either way any advice that could be offered would be great appreciated!
