I have a Dell PE SC1430 tower server located at a remote site running W2003 R2 server. The system event log has the following two entries:
Source: Lsa_sas
Category: None
Type: Error
Event_ID: 11
Description:
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\RaidPort0
Data:
0000: 0010000f 00680001 00000000 c004000b
0010: 31111000 00000000 00000000 00000000
0020: 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000
0030: 00000000 c004000b
This entry is repeated about 20 times consecutively over a period of about 7 seconds
It's then followed by this message every 2.5 minutes for about the next half-hour
Event Type: Warning
Event Source: lsi_sas
Event Category: None
Event ID: 129
Date: 23/01/2013
Time: 04:19:16
Description:
The description for Event ID ( 129 ) in Source ( lsi_sas ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: \Device\RaidPort0.
Data:
0000: 0010000f 00680001 00000000 80040081
0010: 00000004 00000000 00000000 00000000
0020: 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000
0030: 00000000 80040081
I have a gut feeling that this means that there is a fault with the raid controller, but as the system is 150 miles away, and it's snowing, is there anything that can be done first to eliminate any other possibilities?
