Hello all!
Need help understanding an error in the iDRAC log. Although unspecified, I am thinking this is related to RAID controller. The error keeps switching from " the storage battery is operating normally" to "the strorage battery has failed". If this is the RAID battery I am sure Dr. Google will show me how to change it. I just need to know if I am on the right track with this? This server is several states away so any help would be appreciated.

I've read that most people leave the IDrac on ti's default subnet of 192.168.0.xxx but never understood why? THe only reason I would need to use the iDrac console would be if I was off-site and the server was unresponsive, I could force a reboot but to do that I would have to connect to my LAN via VPN. If I leave the iDrac on the 192.168.0.xxx network, I wouldn't have access remotely right?
I am looking at purchasing a 2 in 1 from Dell. I am trying to find out what sizes actually will fold around. These are the inspirons that fold all the way around. Do all sizes do that? 
If the internal graphics card has failed then is this a reason for not being able to RDP into the machine.
So I've been dealing with Dell support about this for about three weeks now and wanted to get some other opinions. So I ordered a Dell Latitude E5570 with a touch screen from the outlet and as soon I as started installing programs I noticed an fairly noticeable electrical squeal from the the laptop. Basically it sounds like what happens when an AC adapter goes bad.
So after initially identifying the issue, here's what's happened:
- Dell Sent out a tech and replaced the mainboard. The problem is that the laptop couldn't charge after that and so I talked to dell and they had me send it back to their repair facility where they replaced the mainboard, fan, and AC adaptor.
- Received the laptop back yesterday and it still has the electrical...
I have a Dell PowerEdge R530 Server and it is missing these drivers:
How do I know the right drivers to download from Dell site?
The Dell site has so many drivers and I cannot download one by one to make sure they work :(
Does the brand name really matter in this case? I normally don't care when it comes to desktops as it all works the same but my knowledge with servers is limited (slowly expanding).
Like would HP memory work well in dell servers and vice versa? Or are they picky about it?
Also when did the prices for server memory go up? Its expensive as hell now. Trying to get 32GB kit for cheap doesn't look feasible.

I am trying to find somewhere that details all the bios config choices. I want to print out a template to essentially go through and decide and make a justification for each option within the server. I use to be able to download it years ago but can't remember where.
windows 8.1 crashed with blue screen error code : 0XC0000034
has anyone ever seen this or have suggestions how to wipe the drive and install windows. I am running out of ideas.
I tried the following:
1. USB dban and get blue screen
2. USB bootable windows and get blue screen
3. Dell bios wipe drive
4. PXE boot and blue screen
5. different USB

We have a Dell Netshelter Rack containing few Dell servers, We also have Dell DAV 2108 - 8 ports KVM switch and Dell LED KMM in the Rack. I have connected these servers to the KVM using Dell server interface module ( VGA+USB) and can switch between these server normally.After few days I tried to add one Dell OptiPlex XE2 desktop PC to the KVM switch using Dell server interface module but there is no disply on the KMM. I change the interface module which is VGA+PS2 but still the screen is blank.
Do I have to make any changes in display settings of the PC?? Do I have to look for PC display drivers?? I'm not sure if the problem would resolve after KVM firmware updgrade...The PC display is normal on any dell monitor....

I have to reinstall a Win SBS2011 Standard on a Dell PowerEdge T110 II but it asks for the driver of Dell PERC. I´ve tried with Windows 2003 and Windows 2008 drivers and didn´t work.
I´ve googled and tried to found on Dell website but nothing.

Hi, I have Dell KM714 Keyboards on multiple workstations.
On two of the so far, when i plug in the Dell Receiver it show the following in Device Manager

I also have Logitech KM270 Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Connected to these PC.
First Time it happened I thought it was a faulty keyboard so i replaced one but not its happening on the second one as well.
Also On few PCs Logitech keyboards are being not responsive as well, like there is a lag. I thought that was a distance issue but they are not that far from the PC.
I have custom anti bacterial covers on these keyboards so replacing them to a different model isnt an option.
I hope someone can help me, there isnt much on the net regarding this kind of issue
So, embarassing story. During a discussion about contract renewal with our reseller a few years ago, the thread derailed into a totally different topic and the support renewal never happened. We've got 2 Dell R710s in our datacenter with no support contract, no hardware coverage. They are production servers, but outside of the window in which Dell will renew a contract.
We're not positioned to replace these until next year. I know there are a few companies out there like Virtual Technology and CDS that will provide 3rd party support contracts. Does anyone have any experience with a company like this? Looking for a recommendation. Our datacenter is in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, so that would need to be a serviceable location.

Hi All,
On one of my Dell Servers I noticed that the driver 'Dell Equallogic Multi-Path Device Specific Module' was not functioning correctly (as per below).
I uninstalled the driver then rebooted. However now Windows is not prompting for re-installation, even when I perform a 'Scan for hardware changes' from within Device Manager.
How can I proceed here?

I have just reset a Dell Equallogic SAN PS4000 following an upgrade to 16 x 2TB HDDs. I'd like to use the web interface to set this up again but it appears to not be assigned with a default IP address after reset. So I apparently need to get the Dell Equallogic Host Integration Tools for Microsoft to set this up again and then I can connect back to the web interface. SAN is in as Data Centre so ideally I'd rather not have to go back in there again if at all possible, or purchase a console cable. I contacted Dell EqualLogic support and they have refused to send me a download link without signing up for a new support contract (I advised them that I only require a download of the CD that came with the SAN originally). Can anyone assist with a link to download? Any version - although Microsoft required - is fine. IMO they should allow you...
One of my R720s needs to have the iDRAC driver updated. When I tried to update it, a message came up saying the Lifecycle Controller was turned off, and I would have to turn it on again by rebooting, and going into the BIOS. This computer had a problem booting up in the past, so another co-worker got it to boot by disabling the Lifecycle Controller.
Is there a way for me to update the iDRAC firmware without enabling the Lifecycle Controller?
Bear with me... first time upgrading RAM.
Here are the specs on the PC we are plannign on adding RAM to:
-Dell Optiplex 7020
-Intel Core i5-4590 CPU @ 3.30 GHz
-8GB RAM
-64 bit system

I have 1 PowerEdge 830 and 1 PowerEdge T605 that I would like to upgrade to a later Windows OS than 2003 r2. This has been brought on by my AV and Backup software no longer supporting 2003 r2. Is anyone operating either of these servers with newer Windows OS's?
