Can anyone share the process how I can disabled the unused NIC interface on DELL PE R720 server?

Dell U2419H Monitor black screens after laptop wakes up from sleep
The host PC is a Dell e7270 with the latest BIOS and Video driver updates.
Connecting to 2 Dell U2419H using DP daisy chain. All works well until the laptop goes to sleep. On wake both screens are black but come back if we disconnect and reconnect them.
I Googled and found many had resolved this issue by changing Power Management settings, turning off the PCI Express, Link State Power Management Brought me no joy :(
How to update Dell 11g server
Hello everyone
One of my customers is using some old Dell R710 servers as backup servers in several branches. These servers has iDRAC6 Enterprise.
What would be your best way to remotely update the firmwares, knowing that the host is an ESXi6.5U2?
- iDRAC6 can only update its firmware, not the server's
- LifeCyle Controller doesn't have the HTTPS option to automatically update the server, like the newer LifeCycle Controllers
- I've tried to install OMSA vib on the host, but finally found out it's kind of useless in regards of installing updates!
I was thinking of booting a Linux OS on a ISO, and deploy firmware/updates from there. But it,s such a hassle, and only one ISO is mappable in the iDRAC console (I need to do the updates remotely).
My Google searches found a topic about creating my own Dell Repository, aka 'DRM'. Never done that...
Issue pushing image to Wyse Device
I am trying to push the latest WES7 image to all my devices.
the machine reboots, I assume in to merlin and the process starts. the update fails due to free space.
how do I get round this issue? I cannot clear any space as its only the OS on them.
can I clear the OS and then push or get it to overwrite without copying the exe file across initially?

Need to upgrade T410 PERC S100
I have a client with an old Dell T410 using the PERC S100 RAID and Windows 2008 R2 Server Standard
The want to do a fresh install of a newer version of Windows Server Essentials. Either 2012, 2016, or 2019.
Seems like the PERC S100 drivers are the roadblock to an upgrade.
Anyone upgrade the #T410 PERC #S100 to a newer version of Windows Server and maintained hardware RAID?
I saw on the Dell site that upgrading to 2012 by switching to AHCI and using software RAID is an option. Anyone do that, and how did it go?
If the S100 is a roadblock, anyone add a new RAID card to get around the old S100, if yes what card, and how did it go?
THANKS!
Dell EMC NX3240 and RAID 10
I am considering the
Dell EMC NX3240. The specs and descriptions I was able to find say that it comes with a factory setting of RAID 5 or RAID 6, neither of which is appealing to me. The specs of the RAID controller say that RAID 10 is among its capabilities.
Does any of the esteemed Spiceworkers know if RAID 10 is possible on this NAS?
Dell OptiPlex 3070, Self-service warranty extensions and spare parts
Hello together,
I usually buy HP, but got a good offer on DELL Optiplex 3070 SFF.
Unfortunately, they don’t have any USB 3.1 Gen2 (only Gen1) and only one M.2 slot for storage, but apart from that they seems to be ok.
I've just have a few thoughts because it is the smallest model in the Optiplex range.
Has anyone experience with this model?
Dell in general... unfortunately, it seems there is no possibility to lookup all suitable warranty extensions (like with the HP Care Pack Central) or list all spare parts (like HP with the PartSurfer) for a specific device.
Under "Parts and Upgrades" are more accessories rather than spare parts listed.
Are they any tricks to get this information, or is it always necessary to contact Dell?
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Martin

Dell Vostro 5590 with latest clean win 10 image. BIG ISSUES...
New Dell Vostro 590 with Dell Win 10 Pro OS pre-installed. As I normally do with all new Pc\laptops I put on the latest Windows image downloaded from the Microsoft site to avoid all the bloatware. After setup I have major issues, many drivers missing, no touchpad and bluescreen on boot. This image is perfect as it works on other laptop with no issue. Can anyone shine a bit of light on this?

Dell Wyse 5030 Unable to Communicate through 10/100 Cisco Phone
In our environment, we use Dell Wyse 5030 thin clients extensively to access VMWare. They are running Teradicci PCoIP. Up until now, we haven't had any issues with the devices... they've been rock solid. However, this latest batch has thrown a wrench at us.
In addition to the thin clients, we are a Cisco VOIP environment. Most desk locations only have one data drop, so we've always bridged the PCs & thin clients off of the phones. A majority of our desk phones are Cisco 7841's, which have a 10/100/1000 passthrough port on the back. Where we have recently run into trouble are any locations which have 7821's or 7861's. Those two models only have 10/100 ports. When we bridge a thin client from the latest batch behind one of these phones, they give us a DHCP lease error. We've even attempted to set a static IP on them and it makes no...
Switch?
1) I m currently using Brocade switch ICX6450. One of my interface details is
GigabitEthernet1/1/27 is down, line protocol is down
Port down for 331 day(s) 19 hour(s) 37 minute(s) 6 second(s)
So does it means that the port is not used for 331 days?
2) How do we check how long the port is down in Dell N1548?
dell optiplex 760 issue
I have a dell OptiPlex 760 that displays an orange light on the power button and diagnostic lights 1 3, I unplugged all external cables and tried turning it back on but still the same, then I tried removing all internal components including the ram cards and placing them back in one by one but still the same.
Inplace Upgrade Windows 2008 to 2012
Hi Guys,
Have a client who will still be on Windows 2008 R2 after January in the Education sector. They are struggling funds wise, so was thinking of doing an in-place upgrade to Windows 2012R2 and then they will be able to save funds for a new server next year. This was all installed before I took over.
Their current server is as follows:-
Its a flat build Windows 2008 R2 Domain Controller that also hosts within hyperv manager a Windows 2012 Apps Sever Virtual Machine
The main DC spec is as follows:-
Dell PowerEdge T130
BIOS Version 1.14.0 11/6/2018
Intel Xeon X3430 2.40GHz
16GB Memory
Just wondered if anyone has done an in place upgrade on one of these and if they encountered any issues ?
Thanks guys.
Hibernation on Dell XPS 9365
I've got a nice XPS 9365, yes, it's around 2 years old, but I have noticed over the last few months that it doesn't hibernate. Or, more accurately, it doesn't come out of hibernate successfully. I can hibernate it, and it tries to do so automatically when the battery gets low and it's already asleep, but then when I push the power button to turn it back on, it just hangs on the Dell POST screen. No spinning dots and no "restoring" message to tell me that it's bringing my system state back from the SSD. I've been playing with various settings to try and make it work. I've disabled and re-enabled hibernate using powercfg -h off and powercfg -h on, which supposedly refreshes hiberfil.sys. I have run the power management troubleshooter in windows, I have done a sleep study, I've made sure Windows 10 is fully patched and I have upgraded all...
Can you run R620 without backplane
I tried searching the forums but did not find an answer.
I trying to get a decent home lab- video surveillance server running, (ESXI)
So I was looking at older Dell or HP servers. Found a good HP dl360p g8 but it seem like HP is picky about hard drives it supports. So the next choice was Dell; eBay has a lot of r620 with good specs and cheap but only with 2.5 hard drive slots. I need around 20-24TB and already have 18TB of 3.5in discs so 2.5 in not really an option.
So my question is it possible just disconnect backplane entirely and use DELL MINI SAS SFF-8087 TO X4 SAS / SATA CABLE XP00Fwith externally mounted hard drives without causing any critical errors in monitoring systems of R620?
Thanks.
Dell PowerConnect 2724 problem
I just acquired a new customer via word of mouth. Their last MSP was kicked out, and is not available to do a turnover of information. The biggest problem I have now is trying to solve a managed switch problem. To make it more difficult, the customer is a couple hundred miles away from me.
They installed a DellPowerConnect 2724 switch in managed mode. It seems all the ports that are not in use have been disabled. I am trying to get a new server up and running, and had a slightly technically inclined person help me on site. We finally got the Lenovo XCC controller to show up on the network using IP 10.1.10.254 by disconnecting a seldom used PC from the switch, and using that port. Using any other of the 12 or so unused ports would not ping. (The LAN is on subnet 10.1.10.0/24)
I have never used aPowerConnect 2724, but I see from a Google...
What is the plug between iDrac port and UID button on r720?
Is this a two pin serial port next to iDrac ethernet on r720?
Picture is of back lower left next to dedicated iDrac ethernet port.
Wondering if this 1/8in wide circular hardware is a reset button, power supply connection, or serial port on the r720? Hardware in question is in between RJ45 and UID light / button?
What is it for?
Will it help diagnose problems? If so, how?

Dell SFP Connection Question (R730)?
I have some questions about SFP connections.
- Our R730s have the Broadcom BCM57800S network daughter cards with 2 GigE and 2 DA/SFP+ links.
- Switches are Dell 62XX series with 4 SFP ports
I've looked over the Dell EMC Networking Transceivers and cables documentation.
- The PowerConnect 62XX series front facing SFP ports are not SFP+
- I would need the SFP+ expansion modules (P/N 330-2467)
- If i use the SFP+ expansion modules, Can i just interconnect them with the SFP+ DAC ( https://www.dell.com/en-us/work/shop/dell-networking-cable-sfp-to-sfp-10gbe-copper-twinax-direct-att.... )
- If i'm correct above, the dell SFP+ DAC states that it is compatible with the PowerConnect 6248, I'm confused. I thought SFP+ was not compatible with SFP, or will it work but just negotiate at 1G?
- If this is the case, am i either limited to 4x1G on the front facing...
Dell computer that will accept a Matrox M9188
Hello,
I need a little help identifying a Dell desktop that can fit a Matrox M9188. Given the size of the video card, I presume either a 7XXX series optiplex or a 5XXX/7XXX series Precision desktop.
Specs for the video card can be found below:
