I have an issue with a particular model of HP USB keyboards, plugged into Dell Desktop PCs. If I plug them into a Dell PC and then boot to BIOS, the keyboard doubles each press of any character. No issues in Windows, however. Tried on several Dells with several different HP keyboards, same results.
I noticed this when I installed Symantec PGP on a machine. When it rebooted into the Symantec BootGuard screen, passwords would not work as each character was ggeettiinngg pprreesseedd ttwwiiccee. Went into BIOS, each press of an arrow key jumped 2 configuration options. Switched to a Dell USB keyboard, no problem. Again, no problem in Windows.
This seems to happen on Dell desktops, Optiplex 380/755/9010/etc. Dell laptops do not seem to have this issue with the HP keyboards, nor do HP desktop PCs. I have updated BIOS, no luck.
Anyone seen...
