Dell Thunderbolt Dock Firmware update error

We just started using the Dell Thunderbolt Dock TB16 and as I am attempting to install it i come upon an update error. I have followed the steps from Dell. The first step states to install the latest Intel Thunderbolt Controller Driver. I install the one found on the dell website for the Latitude 7480. The next step is to run the Thunderbolt Firmware Update Program. That is where i run into issues. The update program tells me i need to update the controller driver but the controller driver is already up to date. I even tried running an older version of the controller and then I updated that one and tried again to no avail. I haven't been able to find a fix
